I became interested in fiber arts about 20 years ago when I learned to spin and acquired my first fiber producing animals - angora goats.  In 1991 I started raising Shetland sheep and in 1999 we added Bluefaced Leicesters to flock.  I discovered that BFL wool felts beautifully and also discovered the art of felting had been going through some amazing transitions.  I started making felt hats about three years ago.  My initial introduction to needle felted hats was by Sherry Konya of Wool for Ewe Farm in LaPorte, Indiana. I have since taken a class with Chad Alice Hagen, hosted Australian Felter Julie Williams for a week of felting and last July attended the Midwest Felters Symposium in Madison, Wisconsin where I was able to take classes with Pat Spark, of Washington and Ewa  Kuniczak of Scotland.  I’m actively pursuing my goal of working as a production felter.

These are movie theater seats that a friend and I did for the Nine Pipes Art Group's recent fundraiser.
