Joanne Simpson

Joanne Simpson is "fourth generation" born and raised in Montana.  She holds an MA in Spanish from the University of Montana and has 36 years of experience teaching Spanish and watercolor classes at all levels, elementary through University.  Her art career began in 1981--she is a charter member of the Montana Watercolor Society and won an award in its first juried show.  Since then she has won many awards for her watercolor work including Best of Show, and many purchase awards in "Art for All", the Madeline Dolly Weaver Award and was finalist in the Detroit Institute of Art prestigious "Art and Flower Biannual"--all juried shows in Michigan.  She lives in Polson with her husband, Jim, and they have 3 grown children and two grandchildren.
