I was born and raised in southeast Kansas. I began to watercolor at the age of 12, when my neighbor gave me some instructions.
In 1955, I married my high school sweetheart and we moved to Dallas, Texas so he could attend SMU engineering school.
I retired from my Office Nursing job of 43 years, in 2000 and started going to watercolor workshops, when possible. My husband retired in 2002, we bought a motor home and started traveling during the summer months. In our travels, we discovered Polson, Montana, and found it to be one of our favorite places. I‘ve attended several of Joanne Simpson’s workshops and decided to join the Sandpiper Art Gallery in 2010.
We have one daughter, three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. We spend our winters in Garland, Texas and our summers in Polson, Montana, when we’re not traveling in the motor home.
